Configuring EClass to Use Greenstone

Note that EClass.Builder uses Greenstone for its Export to CD function.  To enable this function, you must install the latest version of Greenstone (2.38 is required) and the Export to CD plugin. Both can be downloaded here. If you install Greenstone into the default installation directory, EClass.Builder will automatically configure itself to use Greenstone.

To enable the search function for an EClass project, select "Project Settings" from the File menu and click on the "Search" tab. Check the "Enable search function" checkbox and type in a name for your collection.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR WIN 95/98 USERS:
If you have problems with Greenstone CD building, add the following line to your C:\config.sys file:

SHELL=C:\command.com /e:4096 /p

Then restart your computer and try again. Also, due to issues with DOS support on Windows 95/98, the CD export window may not update its status properly or may freeze or hang. We are working to find a workaround for this issue, but for the moment if these errors occur and the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to avoid using the search function on Windows 95/98.
